Warranty policy effective from 31st October 2006

As of October 31st 2006 the standard warranty provided for a unit only repair is 1 year.

Units that have drives changed will have the drives warranted for 3 years; this will not affect the general warranty period of the unit.

For example, a unit with 3 months left on its warranty has its hard drive repaired or replaced; the duration of the general warranty remaining (3 months) will not change but the repaired or replaced drives will be provided with 3 years warranty.

All repairs prior to the 31st October 2006 are warranted for 6 months.

Repair Process
All returned products follow a systematic repair process, and this includes:

INSPECTION: - Engineers inspect the unit and analysis the unit and the report symptoms to determine if the unit is at fault.

HARD DRIVE TEST - A hard drive diagnostic test is performed on digital units to check the fitness/status of the drives. This is an in-depth test, which takes between 1 to 2 hours depending on drive capacity. The test is able to repair damaged sectors on drives, and also ensures the drive is performing correctly. If the diagnostic test shows the drive to be faulty due the handling damage, grown defects, or bad sectors it will advise to replace the drive. In carrying out this test ALL information is erased from the drive, as the drive is re-formatted, and read/write tests are performed. Any important information on the hard drive will have to be backed up prior to the unit is returned for repair.

SOFTWARE UPGRADE: - All units returned will have the latest released software installed.

PRE SOAK PDI BENCH TEST: - All units have a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) test performed prior to soak test, this test covered all functional aspect of the unit.

SOAK TEST: - All units are placed on an over night powered soak test.

PRE RELEASE PDI/TEST: - All units have a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Test performed prior to release; this test covered all functional aspect of the unit.

CLEAN & PACK: - All units are cleaned inside with ESD Anti-static spray and outside with ESD cleaner to remove any dirt or minor surface marks. All units are then packed into a new DM box, security sealed and returned.
