RML Group Profile
RML Group is a broad based motorsport and automotive technology company offering bespoke design, engineering, manufacturing and marketing solutions to its worldwide client base.  The company consists of seven divisions; RML Motorsport, Automotive, Engines, Historic, Events, X-Power and X-Pro

The company employs over 80 specialist personnel at its headquarters in Northamptonshire, England where operations are split between two adjoining buildings with a total floor space of 4,300 sq.m. Confidential, security protected project areas are supported by comprehensive in-house facilities and departments.

Ray Mallock, RML’s Group Chief Executive, has always had a passion for high performance vehicles which goes back to his childhood.  He carved out an initial career as a professional racing driver where he used his engineering skills to improve the performance of the cars he raced. Manufacturers and team owners noticed this and he established RML (Ray Mallock Limited) in 1984 to share that knowledge and skill to help others achieve their aims on the race track, rally stage and road.

Since its formation, the company has diversified and expanded and this bought about the re-brand as RML Group in 2004.  The RML Group now incorporates the seven divisions listed below:

RML Motorsport
Since 1984 RML has achieved success in a diverse range of motorsport categories including GT/sportscars, touring cars, rally cars, single seaters and oval speedway cars. In doing so, the company has enjoyed successful partnerships with Aston Martin, Austin Rover, Nissan, Vauxhall, Opel, Saleen, SEAT and Chevrolet.  RML Motorsport currently runs the Chevrolet World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) programme and a privately entered prototype in the Le Mans 24 Hours and the Le Mans Series.

RML Automotive
The company has frequently worked its motorsport expertise on behalf of major motor manufacturers and it wasn’t long before the manufacturers started to request technical assistance with their non-motorsport projects.

RML Automotive’s previous projects have included the development of sporting models of production cars, where the ride and handling has been tuned to better suit the UK market, right through to the complete ground-up design, build and manufacture of one-off concept cars and low volume production road cars.

In the process, the skills acquired and regularly practiced in the Motorsport arena have been finely honed to the point that RML Automotive can offer each client a bespoke design and manufacturing service, virtually without limitation.

RML Engines
Engine build and development was the only element of the performance equation that was previously outsourced by RML. This was up until early 2006 however when the RML Engine division was created.  Although predominately supporting the Chevrolet WTCC programme the division can offer engine design, mapping, development, build and service to any type of performance engine.  Race engines can be made available either as a one-off purchase or as a turnkey engine supply and support programme.

RML Historic
RML has been actively involved in the preparation of historic race cars for a number of years, albeit behind the scenes.  This work became so popular that RML decided to create a dedicated division to cater for the growing demand.

RML Historic now offers a number of services including restoration, preparation, engine build and development, fabrication, machining, paintwork, electronics, gearbox build and development, car set-up and race programme support.

RML X-Power
RML X-Power is dedicated to supplying a range of quality performance upgrades for road legal vehicles.  The initial product range is aimed at MG and Rover vehicles, all approved by the team behind the Le Mans winning MG EX264.

The division currently creates a ‘one-stop’ shop for MG and Rover owners who want the latest performance parts and accessories for their MG ZR, ZS, ZT and F/TF models along with their Rover 25, 45 and 75 counterparts.

Parts can be purchased on-line via a dedicated website: www.rmlx-power.com

RML X-Pro
The RML X-Pro brand has been launched to provide professional motorsport equipment to RML’s fellow racers.  The X-Pro products have been developed by RML’s engineers both in-house and in conjunction with our partners. The initial range of products includes a Digital Image Recorder, an Infra-red Tyre Heating System and the range of Safety Seat Systems from BSS.

RML Events
RML Events has been born from the successful management of the company’s state-of-the-art specialist hospitality facility that has been utilised over the past two years to support team and VIP hospitality programmes at World Touring Car Championship, Le Mans Series and Le Mans 24 Hour events

This division offers a complete turn-key event management and hospitality function for a variety of functions including VIP hospitality, corporate entertaining, road show, product launches and many more.  The structure can be built to comfortably accommodate both large and small groups and coupled with RML Events management service clients offered a complete service all under one roof.
